2017 Chocolate & Chalk Art Festival

Sunday August 27th, 10am to 5pm 
Along Shattuck Ave. Rose to Hearst 

Make art!  Eat Chocolate!  Chalk Art Contest with Prizes
~ Festival Vendor Booths from Vine to Rose Street
~ Vine Street Beer & Wine Garden with Live Music

The sidewalks along Shattuck Ave. in the Gourmet Ghetto
in North Berkeley are the target of artists young and old, professional and greenhorn during the festival - With no fees to artists, areas of sidewalk are assigned for you to create your own fanciful chalk drawings. Same-day art registration takes place 10AM-5PM in event booths at 1495, 1607 & 1849 Shattuck Ave. where colorful artist's chalk is available for $10 or BYO. 

A Chalk Art Contest for the best drawing will be judged after 4PM. Cash prizes, sponsored by The Coder School Berkeley, are $150, $100, $50 and runners-up get a $25 gift certificate from Books, Inc. Winners will be notified by Wednesday after the event. See our prior year winners! 

To sample this year's chocolate menu items in our neighborhood businesses, purchase Chocolate Tasting tickets ($1/ea. or $20/20) at 1451, 1495, 1607 or 1849 Shattuck Ave. on the day of the event or in advance at via Eventbrite.

Enjoy Singha beer and Vintage Berkeley Wines in the Vine
Street Beer & Wine Garden.  Live music includes the Rusty String Express (Bluegrass), Humanistic Trio (Jazz), and Laura Weinback (Jazz Violin).

This is a family-friendly free event produced by Another Bullwinkel Show  and sponsored by the North Shattuck Association, Singha Beer,  The Coder School Berkeley, Books, Inc., Vignette Wine Country Soda, Berkeley  Community Media, East Bay Loop, the East Bay Express and Yelp.
